One of our prestigious clients who is into Government Sector is looking for Regulatory and Technical Expert / Institute to work in their Colombo office immediately.

Job Description

The primary task of the Regulatory and Technical Expert or institute is to collect and critically evaluate the existing rules, regulations, standards and guidelines related to PCBs and training of the respective officials in the related sectors.

1. Identify and collect all existing rules, regulations, standards and guidelines related to PCBs and alike chemicals including POPs

2. Evaluate those rules, regulations, standards and guidelines for their gaps considering the practical circumstances including nature of the chemicals, products and socioeconomic conditions of the country

3. Propose new laws, regulations, standards and guidelines to fill the gaps and address the above conditions after getting the comments from the stakeholders

4. Prepare related documents including formats of new laws, regulations, standards and guidelines

5. Communicate with the stakeholders to hold related training sessions, meetings of stakeholders and expert committees

6. Arrange all logistics related to holding meetings and workshops

7. Prepare an action plan related to training sessions for the related officials of various institutes within the given period of time

8. Prepare training manuals for the related stakeholders while consulting the experts

9. Communicate with related institutes including the Department of legal draftsman and Central Environmental Authority until the related law, regulations, standards and guidelines are published in the respective documents

10. Effectiveness in evaluation of the training programs and applications of new rules, regulations, standards and guidelines formulated

Qualification

• Expert with Attorney-at-Law preferably with LLB or institute having at least one expert with above qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in government sector in similar projects/activities
