One of our prestigious clients who is a Non Governmental Organizations is looking for Project Coordinator to work in their Colombo office immediately.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Provide overall assistance to the Programme Manager (PM) in the implementation and monitoring of project work relating to the LMR programme.
- Assist the PM in organizing meetings, workshops and trainings through effectively coordinating with all stakeholders and making administrative and logistical arrangements in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Assist the PM to monitor and ensure that the project delivers its outputs and outcomes by utilizing financial resources in an effective and transparent manner and contractually engaging consultants.
- Periodically update communication tools for the LMR programme and assist the PM in the preparation of project reports.
- Assist the PM in preparing for periodic reviews and evaluation of the LMR programme.
- Support the knowledge management of the Programme through updating project files regularly, stocktaking publications and sharing any publications from the Programme with relevant IOM offices and stakeholders.
- Assist the PM in communication and liaison with the government counterparts, project partners, and relevant departments within IOM Colombo, regional office, headquarters and country missions for effective planning and implementation of project activities and relevant work of the Regional programme.
- Accompany the PM in discussions and meetings relevant to the project work.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum Five Years' professional experience in related field (Three Years for Degree Holders) in project implementation, preferably with international organizations and on the issues related to labour migration.
- Excellent communication, coordination and liaising skills with various project stakeholders, especially government interlocutors.
- Demonstrable experience in assisting organizing high level conferences and workshops with government officials.
- Strong analytical and drafting skills in English, preferably supported by demonstrable project implementation, monitoring and evaluation experiences including report writing.
- IT Literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated knowledge or work experience in issues related to overseas employment and contractual labour in Sri Lanka or in the Asian region is an advantage.
- Fluency in all three languages (English, Sinhala and Tamil) is advantageous.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable. Only candidates residing in the country of the duty station within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered.
